Letter to Members

To Our Valued Member,

Bridgewater Credit Union is very excited to announce a proposed merger with Merrimack Valley Credit Union. After carefully evaluating options and possibilities, your Board of Directors is convinced that the proposed merger would result in a perfect fit of organizations with matching cultures and values. Additionally, the territories do not overlap. If approved by the membership and the appropriate regulatory authorities, Bridgewater Credit Union President & CEO, John J. Howard, will be named President & CEO of the combined organization.

What does it mean for you?

We are confident that the proposed merger will result in a credit union that can better achieve Bridgewater Credit Union’s primary mission: to be the best place that our members have ever banked and that our employees have ever worked. The proposed merger will enable the combined institutions to be better positioned to grow and not only meet the evolving banking needs of our membership, but also set the mark among local financial institutions. That means that we can offer our members expanded products and services, implement top-of-the-industry systems that create even faster and easier transactions, and have the added convenience of an expanded branch network, connecting the South Shore with the North Shore and Southern New Hampshire. The Bridgewater Credit Union name will be used in the southern territory and the Merrimack Valley Credit Union name in the northern
territory.

What does it mean for the Bridgewater Credit Union team?

Both organizations are dedicated to their members and their employees. There will be no layoffs because of this proposed merger...period! The team you trust at your local branch and the back office team that services your accounts will still be there to give you the high level of service you have come to expect.

The first town hall will be held at the Bridgewater Branch on Wednesday, November 8th, at 6:30PM and will be facilitated by Bridgewater Credit Union President & CEO, John J. Howard. All are welcome and refreshments will be served. We will ensure that all members have a chance to have their questions addressed. We hope that you are as excited as we are!
